So there are 11 lessons or 5 steps or a plethora of ideas on how to make disciples. I have read a few books over the years on the topics and found that each author has their own idea about how it works. Each uses examples from scripture and life experience to explain their view and try to convince you that there formula is the way to go.
I have been studying Paul and don’t know if he is the best example, there is no clear cut formula to his method. He goes into a town and starts preaching the Word of God, bam! Then people start following him because they want to learn more. So I get from Paul that the way to make disciples is to preach the Word, follow the Word, and instill the Word of God in others. How do we make disciples? We teach them the Word of God, if receive it and follow great, if not we move on. Seems to simple for some but to make we simply follow the Word of God!
Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
