Acting Out
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8
Upon receipt of our gift, there is a deep desire to serve our God with thanksgiving. He has equipped us with every tool we need to do so, and with all kinds of ways to serve. It is an extension; an outgrowth of our faith in Christ. James 2:14-20
What are some actions you can take today? Here are just a few suggestions:
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go thereforeand make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!’” Romans 10:15
“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” Philippians 2:14-16
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23
And of course the greatest is Jesus’ command:
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40
Love, Preach, Go, Do, Make, Baptize, Encourage…how many can you find in our Holy Bible, and how will you ACT out in faith?
